The Tar Wars program is a tobacco-free educational program sponsored by the American Academy of Family Physicians and is conducted in the fifth grade.  A licensed physician comes to the classroom and gives a presentation on the consequences of smoking and tobacco use.  The fifth grade students then design and create a poster to enter into the Tar wars Poster program.  The school winners can move on to the regional, state, and national contests
